Donajkowski's Gem Finishes Trip on a High Note
After losing to Owens Community College (OH), 11-1 in the opener, ACC rebounded to win the last game of its nine-game spring trip, 8-4, largely on the arm of Kaleb Donajkowski.
Donajkowski threw six innings, striking out 10, including seven on called third strikes. He gave up two runs and seven hits and two walks. Charlie Best struck out two in an inning of relief.
At the plate, Jake Zann tripled twice. Maxwell McCarty also had two hits, scored two runs and stole two bases. Nate Koster singled and doubled and drove in two. Evan Fairbanks singled and tripled. Zach Fletcher doubled. Kaden Benaske had two RBI.
In the opener, McCarty had two doubles and scored ACC's lone run. Fairbanks also had two hits. Caleb McEwen struck out three in 3.2 innings.
The Lumberjacks (3-13) travel home today and play at Alma College on Tuesday.
