Lumberjack Legends
In 2024, Alpena Community College formed the Lumberjack Legends Hall of Fame, a way to honor past ACC student-athletes, coaches and teams who have distinguished themselves and represented ACC with excellence. The Lumberjack Legends are:
Bobby Allen, men's basketball player 1989-1991, assistant basketball coach 1994-2003, head women's basketball coach 2003-2021, head men's basketball coach 2021-present, first team all-conference 1989-90, 13th best scorer in ACC men's basketball history with 795 points, inducted in 2025
Karina Cole, women's basketball, 2014-2016, first team all-conference 2014-15, first team all-conference 2015-16, all-region both 2014-15 and 2015-16, 2nd leading scorer in ACC women's basketball history with 1024 points, inducted in 2025
Ralph Diethelm, voice of the Lumberjacks, 1954-1981, inducted in 2025
Jim Dutcher, athletic director and men’s basketball coach from 1958 to 1966. Dutcher led the 1966 men’s basketball team to a Region 12 Championship and a spot in the National Junior College Athletics Association Championship tournament, inducted in 2024
Diana Flakes, women’s basketball, led her squad to a 19-5 record and MCCAA Eastern Conference championship in 1980-81 and was named NJCAA second-team All-American in 1981, number three scorer in ACC women's basketball history with 964 points, inducted in 2024
Jimmie Holliday, men’s basketball, achieved NJCAA honorable mention All-American honors in 1987, inducted in 2024
Keith Jackson, men's basketball, 1974-1976, first team all-conference 1974-75, first team all-conference 1975-76, leading scorer in ACC men's basketball history with 1087 points, inducted in 2025
Frank McCourt, athletic director and coach, 1973-2017 - head women's basketball coach 1980-88, head men's basketball coach 1988-2017, inducted in 2025
Lisa Dahm Moore, softball, 2002-2004, first team all-conference 2002-03, first team all-conference 2003-04, inducted in 2025
John Stosick, swimming, captured the NJCAA title in swimming in the 200-meter backstroke in 1968 and finished as the national runner-up in the 100-meter backstroke, inducted in 2024
Nathan Tuori, men's basketball, 1994-1996, first team all-conference 1995-96, all-region 1996, number three scorer in ACC men's basketball history with 1025 points
Josh Walker, men's basketball, earned NJCAA third-team All-American status in 2003, first team all-conference 2002-03, MCCAA Central Division Player of the Year 1975-76, inducted in 2024
Alonzo Weatherly, men's basketball, earned NJCAA honorable mention All-American status in 1979 and led his team to a 21-9 record that season, 6th leading scorer in ACC men's basketball history with 960 points, inducted in 2024
1965-66 Men's Basketball Team, 22-5 record, won the Region XII Championship and played in the NJCAA National Tournament, inducted in 2024
1979-80 Women's Basketball Team, had a perfect 8-0 record in the MCCAA Eastern Conference, 17-4 overall, inducted in 2025
1980-81 Women's Basketball Team, finished with a 19-5 overall record, 17-1 in the conference, lost in the NJCAA Region 12 championship game, featured 2nd team All-American and Lumberjack Legend Diana Flakes, inducted in 2025
