Lumberjack Legends
In 2024, Alpena Community College formed the Lumberjack Legends, a way to honor past ACC student-athletes, coaches and teams who have distinguished themselves and represented ACC with excellence.
The initial class of Lumberjack Legends are:
Jim Dutcher, who served as ACC’s athletic director and men’s basketball coach from 1958 to 1966. Dutcher led the 1966 men’s basketball team to a Region 12 Championship and a spot in the National Junior College Athletics Association Championship tournament.
John Stosick, swimming, captured the NJCAA title in swimming in the 200-meter backstroke in 1968 and finished as the national runner-up in the 100-meter backstroke.
