Baseball Sweeps Lake Michigan
ACC swept visiting Lake Michigan College in baseball action, 10-3 and 8-4 on Sunday.
In the opener, Brendan DiBartolomeo picked up the win, throwing five innings and striking out three. Brock Wing threw two scoreless innings of relief, posting four strikeouts.
At the plate, Brett Moroschan was 3 for 4. Mitchell Walters had two hits, two runs, three RBI and two stolen bases.
Matt Thompson and Kaleb Blaskowski each had two hits and two RBI. Blaskowski scored three times. Nate Koster singled, walked twice and scored two runs.
The Lumberjacks came from behind in game two, trailing 3-2 before a big six-run fifth broke the game open.
Blaskowski was the only ACC player with two hits. Nathan Valdivia scored two runs. The Jacks were aided by nine walks in the game and a total of 16 on the day by Red Hawks' pitchers.
Wyatt Crawford went the distance on the mound for the win, giving up seven hits, three walks and only one earned run in seven innings. He struck out four.
ACC (8-23) plays at Saginaw Valley State University on Wednesday, Apr. 24 against the Cardinals' JV squad. They host Muskegon Community College on Friday and Saturday to close out the conference schedule.
