Softball Opens Season With Split
ACC softball kicked off its spring trip to Myrtle Beach, SC by splitting their first two games, losing to Madison College (WI), 11-3 and bouncing back to defeat Moraine Valley CC (IL), 17-8.
Against Madison, the Lumberjacks only trailed 6-3 after four and a half innings but the Bears scored three in the fifth and two in the sixth to break it open.
Kirsten Neubecker was 2 for 3 with an RBI. Alaina Neubecker tripled in a run and scored. Reagan Sides also had an RBI hit.
The Jack bats came alive against Moraine, as a 10-run second inning keyed the five inning mercy rule win. Emilee Modrzewski was 3 for 3 with a double and a stolen base. Jena Wambold hit two doubles, scored twice and knocked in two. Jordan Ashley was 2 for 2. Kirsten Neubecker homered. Dakota Rachow and Alaina Neubecker each had a hit and two RBI. Ashley picked up the win in the circle.
ACC (1-1) plays two against Florence-Darlington Technical College (SC) today.
