Softball Blasts Bay in Round Robin
ACC ended the first annual MCCAA Northern Conference softball round robin with a bang, defeating Bay College, 25-2. Earlier in the weekend, the Lumberjacks lost to Delta College 11-3, to Mid Michigan College 9-3, to Grand Rapids Community College 16-7 and to Muskegon Community College 9-2.
Against Bay, Taylor Krentz threw a complete game two-hitter to earn the win. At the plate, ACC pounded 22 hits including two home runs and a double by Kirsten Neubecker. Emilee Modrzejewski had four hits, including a triple and three runs scored. Dakota Rachow was 3 for 4 with two runs scored and three RBI. Sydney Hitzelberger was 3 for 3 with two runs and two RBI. Kenna Tippman, Reagan Sides and Magdalyn Sandoval had two hits apiece.
In the first game of the weekend, against Delta, Alaina Neubecker and Faith Cousins each had two hits. Hitzelberger hit a two-run home run.
Sides and Cousins led the hitting against Mid Michigan with two hits apiece.
Alaina Neubecker had three hits against Grand Rapids, while Tippman, Sides and Jordan Ashley each had two.
In the loss to Muskegon, Kirsten Neubecker had three hits, including a double and an RBI. Cousins had two hits and scored two runs.
Next weekend, ACC (4-12 overall, 1-6 conference) plays at Muskegon on Friday and Saturday, April 4-5 before traveling to Grand Rapids for a doubleheader on Sunday, April 6.
