South Carolina Squad Sweeps ACC
ACC went up against powerhouse Florence-Darlington Technical College and lost both ends of a doubleheader, 12-4 and 12-5.
The Stingers went 34-16 last season and won the NJCAA Regional and put their bats to work against the Lumberjacks, pounding out 28 hits in the doubleheader.
ACC jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the opener on a two-run triple by Kenna Tippman. The Jacks scored two more in the third on a two-run single by Alaina Neubecker, but ACC couldn't keep up as the Stingers scored in every inning en route to the win.
Emilee Modrzejewski had two hits for the Lumberjacks.
In game two, it was a scoreless tie through three innings until FDTC scored five in the fourth to break the game open.
Modrzewski again had two hits for ACC while Jordan Ashley tripled and knocked in two runs. Reagan Sides singled, stole a base, scored and had an RBI. Kirsten Neubecker had an RBI single.
ACC (1-3) had its games today cancelled due to field conditions and will play a tripleheader tomorrow in Myrtle Beach, SC at 9:00 am, 11:00 am and 1:00 pm.
