Women's Hoops Lose at Gogebic
For a stretch in Friday night's game, ACC played some of its best basketball of the season, outscoring Gogebic Community College, 19-1 over a span of five and a half minutes.
Unfortunately for the Lumberjacks, those were the last minutes of the game and came when ACC was down 74-40. As a result, ACC lost to the host Samsons, 75-59.
Gogebic led 21-13 after one quarter and 46-27 at the half. They expanded the margin to 64-38 after three quarters.
Saige Flaugher led the Jacks with a double-double - 16 points and 11 rebounds. She also dished out a team high five assists. Anna Herbolsheimer narrowed missed a double-double herself, finishing with nine points and nine rebounds.
Jena Wambold scored seven points. Cierra Tetz had six points and five rebounds. Bryce Roy also scored six points. Abby Platt tallied five points.
ACC (1-5) will next travel to Flint to play in the Mott Community College Roundball Classic. They play Lakeland (Ohio) Community College (2-4) on Friday, Dec. 20 and the host Bears (5-2) on Saturday, Dec. 21.
