Lumberjacks Battle but Lose at Montcalm

After a long afternoon road trip and losing the first two sets decisively, 25-16 and 25-15, a lot of teams may have thrown in the towel and gotten ready for the long ride home (and class tomorrow). But not the ACC Lumberjacks, who batted back to win the third set, 25-15 and throwing a scare into host Montcalm Community College.

The Centurions, however, regrouped and jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the fourth set, en route to a 25-12 win.

Maddie Dipzinski had eight digs, five kills and 23 assists for the Lumberjacks. Raquelle Miller contributed five kills, seven digs and three blocks. Kirsten Neubecker posted five kills, seven digs and four blocks. Lillian Adams had 13 digs and Olivia Precord had eight digs and six kills.

ACC is on the road again on Thursday, Oct. 17 at Delta College before returning to Alpena for the home finale next Tuesday, Oct. 22 against Bay College.
